Eng. Kungu Ndungu has established a distinguished career trajectory marked by progressive advancement in various roles within the infrastructure sector across the country. Currently serving as the Director General of the Authority, since October 2021, Eng. Ndungu brings on board extensive wealth of experience and expertise in highway management and development. His tenure at the Authority has seen strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing road infrastructure and ensuring efficient transportation networks across the country.

Prior to assuming his current role, Eng. Ndungu had held several key positions within the Authority through which he demonstrated commitment to the Mission of the Authority in developing and maintaining the national highways network. He served as the Director in charge of Maintenance of road where he oversaw critical aspects of road infrastructure planning and management. Prior to that, he served as the Deputy Director in charge of Special Projects where he played a pivotal role in implementing high-impact projects aimed at improving road networks and enhancing transportation efficiency.

The Director General’s extensive experience also includes his previous managerial roles within the Ministry of Roads and Transport where he contributed to the implementation of various infrastructure projects. He has a solid educational background starting with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Eng. Ndungu’s leadership is marked with his technical expertise in pursuit of strategic development which positions him at a vantage position to drive key infrastructure development and sustainable transportation solutions in the country as articulated in the Authority’s Strategic Objectives.
